Dominating the village of Martillac, the castle Mirebeau is a beautiful property of five hectares. It resists valiantly the onslaught of urbanization by offering an island of greenery to the housing estates that encircle it thanks to its centenary country hedge and its floral embankment, veritable green corridors for the natural flora and fauna of our vineyards. With its vineyard that surrounds the 17th century building, its bicentenary trees and its breathtaking view of the Garonne valley, it had already seduced Alexandre Dumas’ little daughter around the 1920s.
The red vine has been planted on the highest part of the hillside dominating the village of Martillac to benefit from the best sunshine and natural drainage due to the layer of gravel that flushes.
The plot of white vine, of very qualitative terroir of white marls, was saved from urbanism in 2004 (it should have been the third slice of the subdivision of Heliotropes, hence the name of the bottle !!!). In addition, this small plot of land with a viticultural vocation already belonged to the property of Mirebeau in the 1950s, but lost in various shares of succession.
