Château de Rouillac is very old and noble estate that was bequeathed by Jean de Martigny, King’s Counsel, to Jean-Paul Loret, the then President of the parliament of Bordeaux. Today the château is a vast property that retraces the family history of its successive owners.
The most illustrious of these is without doubt Baron Haussmann, who acquired the domain in 1864.
In 2009 when Laurent Cisneros first set eyes on the property, he fell under the charm of this sleeping beauty and decided to link the destiny of his family with that of Rouillac.
Situated to the south of Bordeaux in the western part of the Pessac-Leognan appellation, the 36-hectare domain has the rare advantage of being in one block. Today there are 23 hectares of red vines and 3 hectares of white in production.
As early as January 2010, in line with his personal convictions, Laurent Cisneros chose to initiate the conversion of the entire vineyard to sustainable agricultural methods with a view to obtaining HEQ (High Environmental Quality) certification.
