Purchased in 2008 by the Briest family, the wine estate Château Haut Nouchet stretches across 32 hectares of land comprised of Gunzian gravel soils set in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Managed by three siblings of the Briest family and assisted by the recommendations of Stéphane Derenoncourt Consultants, the domain receives the same care as a work of art in order to produce delicate, smooth wines with full, well-structured body, true to the terroirs upon which they are grown. The vines are given every attention right up until the grape harvests, which are all done manually. Winemaking is done extremely gently to seek smooth velvetiness of tannins and fresh, lively fruit flavours. Vine growing techniques established over the past twenty years (traditional ploughing of the soil to avoid the use of chemical weed killers, use of pheromones to combat attacks from insects) make it a pioneering domain in a system of viticulture that protects both the soils and the environment.
