Château Haut-Bailly

Cru Classé de Graves

At the doorstep of Bordeaux and at the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Haut-Bailly, Cru Classé de Graves, has stood in the midst of this single- block, 30-hectare vineyard for over four centuries. Its unique topography, its climate and the diversity of its soils give an incredible consistency to its wines. Established on one of the highest spots of the left bank, Château Haut-Bailly benefits from a mosaïc of soils and subsoils including gravels on clay and fossil shells. This exceptional terroir explains Haut-Bailly’s regularity over the vintages. The château grows only red wine varieties and has an important percentage of very old vines planted in the late 19th century, including cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, malbec, petit verdot and carménère. Haut-Bailly wines have a subtle, harmonious style, combining finesse and consistency, suppleness and structure and soft tannins with rich aromas – pure elegance.
